In the period following the repeal of the Witchcraft Act in the early 1950s one of the main Witchcraft based group to come into the public domain was led by Robert Cochrane. He and Doreen Valiente put together a set of rituals to be used by Wiccans. These were drawn from various traditions, notably those related to groups who stressed the importance of the horse.
