There are many sites on the internet related to or referring to Wicca and there are many different types of Wiccans. There is a danger if allow Wicca to be defined by Wikipedia which provides a good overview but is superficial in its explanation of what is to truly be gained from Wicca, which is truly a beautiful tradition when experienced fully.
Within Wicca there are two main strands which work together the right hand and left hand paths. The right hand path focuses heavily on the protection of the environment and the left hand path on achieving the will of the individual. The key traditions carried through from the prehistoric period place the stag, a representation of the left hand path, at the heart of the tradition. This implies validity for the left hand path within Wicca and gives a central position for the individual.
